Birthday weekend and good weather

So, last weekend the weather was great! Saturday and sunday were filled with sun and beautiful spring temperatures. You know you got to go cook outside like this, don’t you?

What’s it going to be. Considering I have my birthday on sunday, I was thinking pulled pork, which is always good. Problem was in the time to sit around for a few hours to let it go low and slow on the WSM. In stead I chose to do it in the DO, which I didn’t use for a few weeks. No special treatments this time, I actually copied my own recipe for Dutch Oven Pulled Pork from my blog.

Spring Satay sticks on the grill

Last weekend, I decided it was about time to lite the Q again. It was way overdue, since I had some very busy weekends and no time to grill anything. Lazy sunday BBQ burgers

Since I just like to grill and I also like meat, I decided to put some meat on the Q again.

Chicken is the preferred cut, and I needed to figure out a nice recipe for cooking it, without sticking in the recipes I know and love already. Got me thinking, and suddenly …. #lightbulboverhead ….. lemon came to mind (and google).

Chicken Stew in the DO

Yesterday I had the craving of doing something from charcoal again, and I must say, the weather was fine. No rain, temperature around 7 degrees celcius and little to no wind. My son was in the mood for helping me as well, so I thought, what the heck, let’s fire it up.

First lets have a look what’s in the fridge. I had some carrots, celery, garlic, leek, mushrooms, onions and chicken filets. Sounds like a plan to get a nice stew started.
